Life of Harry and Bertha Holt, the founders of Holt Children’s Services, Inc.
The history of Holt Children’s Services, Inc. began with twelve children from South Korea found homes and families in the U.S. on the 12th of October, 1955. Eight of them were adopted
by Harry and Bertha Holt, who made it possible to open the door of interracial adoption. In 1956 Mr. Holt returned to Korea to establish Holt Adoption program, and the Holt dedicated
their lives for children in Korea who were in much needed for families. Over the past 60 years, Holt Children’s Services has grown to take the forefront of Korean social welfare
programs for the children, unwed mothers, and the special needs, providing comprehensive and professional services with partnerships and collaborations with communities. Holt’s outreach programs have extended and continue to develop on a global level, supporting and providing programs for children in Cambodia, Mongolia, Tanzania, Nepal and North Korea.
