From July 26th to August 5th, ‘Srollan Holt College Volunteer Group’- supported by The Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs- sent twelve volunteers to Cambodia.

The group, including a band of electricians led by Professor Lee Jongho of Korea Polytechnics, has been sent to repair electric appliances and provide education in an area renowned for its poor- AnhChanh, Cambodia.

According to the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency’s research, Cambodia’s electrical fee is the highest of Asia; meanwhile, Holt’s own research conducted in 2015 shows that the low-income families of AnhChanh earn only about hundred dollars a month and pay ten dollars of their earnings for electricity each month.

The Srollan volunteer group’s electrical repair work is estimated to reduce the price of the electrical fee by fifteen percent for each family.
